The first year of your child's school life is a very important one. They often make a great deal of progress in a very short time. In order to record this progress, and to share it with you, we use an online learning journal called Tapestry. This is a platform that we use to record observations of the activities the children have been engaged in, both with an adult and by themselves. We do this in order to monitor the progress of all children and to celebrate their achievements. You are able to access this online learning journal and see the photos and observations of your child at school.
At the same time you will be able to add photographs of activities and comments about things you do at home as well as making comments about school achievements. We very much value our partnership with parents and Tapestry is a great online tool which supports the partnership between home and school. At the end of the Reception year you will be able to download and print your child's learning journal and keep it as a record of their first year at school.
